This recipe is great for a homemade breakfast that can be put together quickly and tastes amazing! Flaky, Buttery and with that Custard like center Dutch Baby's are a go to breakfast staple in my house!

  • 1 Skillet Or Cast Iron Skillet
  • 1 Blender Optional

Ingredients
  

Sourdough Discard Dutch Baby Batter

  • ½ cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tbsp Sourdough Starter Discard
  • 3 Egg
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • ½ cup Milk
  • 1 tbsp Sugar

Other Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Butter For Greasing Pan

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven ovato 435° put skillet in oven to get hot, while you prep the batter.
  • Add all ingredients (accept butter) to the blender and blend for 30 seconds. Time may vary depending on the power of your blender.
    1/2 cup All Purpose Flour, 1 tbsp Sourdough Starter Discard, 3 Egg, 1/2 cup Milk, 1 tbsp Sugar, 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • Next safely pull skillet out of the oven with mittens and grease with with butter.
    1 tbsp Butter
  • Pour batter into the pan and place in the oven to cook for 20 minutes
  • once the time is up , remove skillet from the oven and let cool off.
  • top with powdered sugar, fruit or maple syrup and enjoy!

Notes

I you don't have a blender to quickly mix the batter use a whisk, fork or spoon to bring the batter together.
Preheat oven to 435 degrees and place your skillet in the oven to get hot. This is the step that will give that perfect rise to your dutch baby.
